Step 4Altoids Surface Preparation

As iconic as the Altoids graphics are, I found that I quite liked the 'brushed' metal look.

>> Take some sandpaper and begin wearing away the top layer of paint.

The finer the grade of abrasion you have, the smoother the finish will be.

Step 5Cut PVC Tubing

I've found that using 5mm clear PVC helps to keep the individual wires tidy.

Cut three separate lengths:

1. (1x) 600mm for the sensor cable
2. (2x) 300mm for connection to the LCD display
3. (1x) 80mm length for the 9v battery.
