Step 6Add the Arduino

Before installing the Arduino in the case, you'll want to upload the code first.
Otherwise it's going to be a little bit difficult to connect the USB connector when it's in the Altoids tin.

Get the Arduino Code Here! Be sure to change the wheel circumference in millimetres to that of your bike wheel.

The inside of the tin needs to be well insulated! 
 >> Get some paper, card or foam board and cut to the profile of the tin. The last thing you want is to short-circuit anything, especially when high gain radio is involved!

Connecting Power
>> Cut two lengths of thin wire that are slightly longer than the PVC tube you cut earlier. If you're using a +5v source, you need to have it regulated. If using a 9v PP3 battery, it needs to solder to the DC jack on the Arduino. (Positive goes to the centre pin, ground to the outer - see pictures)

Once you've done this and uploaded the code, just place the arduino into the tin, it should fit perfectly!

Of course this takes up quite a bit of space in your case. If you want that extra room then you might consider these compatible alternatives: 'Boarduino' kit or perhaps the Arduino Pro Mini.
