Step 7Wiring up the LCD

I chose to use Cat5 cable to wire up the 16x2 display to the Arduino.
Advantages of Cat5
- Colour coded
- Not too bulky
- Flexible for closing the lid
- High quality copper great for soldering
1) Start by soldering the wire to the pads on the back of the LCD. It doesn't really matter which colour goes where.
2) Push the wires through the PVC tubes (about 4x wires max to each tube)
3) Push the tubes through the Altoids tin and finally connect to the Arduino:

You might want to put some black electrical tape on the reverse side of the display to cover up the wires.
